Mohamed Hamdou — Founder & Head Roaster

Mohamed Hamdou founded 1718 Coffee with a singular vision: to bring world-class specialty coffee to Dubai and share the stories behind every bean. With deep expertise in sourcing, roasting, and the science of extraction, Mohamed personally oversees every aspect of our coffee programme — from establishing direct trade relationships with producers to cupping and approving every lot that enters our roastery.

An educator at heart, Mohamed runs regular cupping sessions and barista training workshops, believing that coffee knowledge should be shared freely. He is the reason 1718 Coffee is more than a roastery — it is a community built around a shared love of exceptional coffee.

Our team is trained in specialty coffee fundamentals, sensory evaluation, and the art of hospitality.
